After being elected in a 2024 Special Election and re-elected to a full term months later, Tim was appointed to the House Committee for Veterans Affairs and the House Committee on Homeland Security, where he serves as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Emergency Management and Technology. In those roles, he is fighting to protect the benefits our military veterans have rightfully earned and ensuring Western New York receives its fair share of disaster aid.

As a New York State Senator for 14 years, he pursued an ambitious infrastructure improvement agenda, helping deliver record investment for our roads and transportation networks, including a $32.8 billion five-year capital plan. From election and criminal justice reforms to protecting organized labor, and advancing record funding for public schools, Tim has always delivered for our community.

In 2017, when extremists in Washington attempted to dismantle democratic values and rights, Tim fought to uphold a woman’s right to choose, protect LGBTQ students, and strengthen gun laws in New York.
